Chibo is a proud Japanese and Korean American and is the Board Co-Chair at ACCESS RJ and has been a part of the ACCESS RJ community since 2009 when she was a Community Mobilization and Policy Advocacy Intern. She is the Program Manager of Infectious Diseases at AAPCHO, an organization dedicated to promoting advocacy, collaboration, and leadership that improves the health status and access of Asian Americans (AAs), Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (NH/PIs). In this role, Chibo is principally responsible for managing programs related to maintaining and strengthening current tuberculosis (TB) control and prevention, COVID-19, and Hepatitis B priorities. Prior to working at AAPCHO, Chibo managed data and program reporting for government and foundation grants received for API survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking at Asian Women’s Shelter. In addition to her professional experiences, she also worked cross-culturally in Rwanda with the Peace Corps and Global Health Corps on GBV prevention, Quality Improvement, and Maternal and Child Health from 2016-2019. Chibo holds a Master of Science degree in Global Health Policy and Management from Brandeis University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Mills College. In her free time, you can find her either cooking new Greek recipes with her partner, or hanging out with her pet canaries, Mango and Hot Cheeto.
